La Casetta, Italian restaurant in Wembley

Published on Wednesday 12th December 2012

The Committee of Owners invited us to lunch for the 7 December 2012. We chose La Casetta because it’s in the BBX Club. From the exterior it looks a bit plain but once inside its very pleasant. It reminded me of that movie ‘The Witch, Lion and Wardrobe’, passing through the heavy black door from one place into a new world. Once inside I noticed the very well presented and welcoming staff and you couldn’t miss the bar. We headed to our table of 8 which was easily noticeable. We were very soon offered drinks and most of us chose LLB as it was lunch. A little while later we were given the Christmas Menu. We could have had the a la carte menu but we chose the ‘limited choice menu’ There were 3 choices of entrée, main-course and desert. More than half chose the Garlic Prawns which came to the table bubbling in boiling garlic butter. Sue and I chose the lightly fried Calamari. It was good. The others were raving about the Garlic Prawns. The main course choices were either Fish, Chicken, Veal, or Fillet Steak.

Most chose either the fish or steak which was consumed, everyone was very happy with the food and service. I tried really hard to find something to complain about but came up with nothing. On the way out I joked with the cashier that the only thing that I found to complain about was the Christmas Crackers, were very small. But we didn’t pull the crackers anyway. We took them home to hang on our Christmas tree.

If you want ‘Italian’ décor, crisp, bright white table cloths and great traditional European food then we recommend La Casetta.

From left to right around the table… Tom Hawthorne, Bernice Dillon, Sue Bergin, John Bergin, Kaye Hawthorne, Pam Russell, Ed Russell and Terry Burrows in the right hand corner.

La Casetta is located at 298 Cambridge Street, Wembley.
