Food Shopping in Perth

Published on Tuesday 14th August 2012

Mountway has its own Deli in the reception area with a good selection of items and frozen foods so you won’t have to worry about some sustenance if you are too tired to go out on your first night.. However our delicatessen is just there for the convenience of guests. We are not trying to provide a supermarket like Coles or Woolworths.

SUPERMARKETS NEAR MOUNTWAY: In the City block there are two Woolworths Supermarkets and they are easily found on the PERTH MOUNTWAY MAP at numbers 15 and 16. The Coles supermarket chain is constructing a supermarket in Raine Square behind the Royal Hotel, not far from the Perth central station. These three supermarkets a short walk from Mountway.

On the other side of the railway line in NORTHBRIDGE is a fantastic (little by comparison) supermarket operated by the ANDRITSOS family. It’s a bit too far to walk it but if you have a car it’s just a few minutes away. We can recommend the Northbridge Continental Supermarket as a one stop shop for all your food needs. Getting off the freeway, I stop there frequently to pick up a luncheon roll (the best in Perth) for about $6.00.

Here are some photo’s that I took to show you around. We like the ‘buckets’ of Ruby Red Grapefruit, ($4.00) and the ‘buckets’ of field Mushrooms ($5.00).

Part of the dry goods area. The tremendous range of goods is outstanding.

Director John Andritsos stacks each piece of fruit after he personally selects only the best from the Canningvale Markets three times a week.

Glenda making my lunch = Ham Cheese Tomato Vegemite roll and topped with Tomato Sauce.
Highly recommended but you should microwave it on high for 30 seconds.
