Perth Royal Show

Published on Tuesday 22nd September 2015

The September long weekend is coming up and the school holidays will soon commence, which means one thing: the Perth Royal Show!

If you are visiting Perth and are looking for something to do over the weekend or next couple of weeks, definitely check out the Show. With agricultural roots, the Perth Royal Show is hosted annually by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA and is a fun day out for the whole family.

The show has everything, from fun festival rides, sideshows and showbags for the kids, gourmet food tastings and sales for the adults and of course the famous wood chopping competitions and the best breeds of cats, dogs and farm animals on display.

Claremont Showgrounds has been the home of the Perth Royal Show since 1904 and continues to host the show annually.

The best way to get to the show is to catch the Fremantle train line from Perth Train Station and disembark at the Showgrounds train station (station is only operational during the Royal Show). Perth Train Station is only a 15-minute walk from Mountway Holiday Apartments, or alternatively you could shorten the walk by catching the various CAT buses that operate throughout the city.

Will you be attending the Royal Show this year? What are your favourite things to do at the Show? Let us know in the comments.
