Perth, the city of festivals

Published on Sunday 9th February 2014

Locals and tourists of Perth will be spoilt for choice over the next few weeks with a suite of festivals hitting the town. February to March is a celebration of culture and platform for locally talented musicians, comedians, dancers, and performers.

The Perth Fringe World Festival kicked off on 24 January and will run until 23 February 2014. The Cultural Centre in Northbridge is completely transformed into a world of bright colours, glitz and glamour. From open garden bars, tents featuring performances and mermaids swimming in water tanks, Fringe never fails to deliver.

Running in conjunction to Fringe World is the Perth Festival which is part of the Perth International Arts Festival. The Perth Festival showcases visually stunning displays of art, classical and contemporary music, writing and film to name a few.  The Perth Festival will commence on 7 February until 1 March 2014.

This weekend will see Langley Park in Perth transformed into a pyrotechnic spectacular. The Lotterywest Festival Spectacular: Veles e Vents is a FREE family friendly event and promises a magical journey and evening.

The Lotterywest Festival Spectacular: Veles e Vents runs from 7-9 February, with the show starting at 8 pm.

For our guests at Mountway, getting to the festivals is easy by catching the free Red CAT bus from Milligan Street in West Perth.  You can also track down festival event venues using a city map we created for you, which highlights the major attractions and landmarks in Perth.

With an incredible choice of entertainment, Perth really has a lot of to offer everyone during February and March.
